The lack of opportunities to exit cycles of inter-generational poverty are often felt but seldom faced due to the lack of understanding of the lynchpin of the cycle. Lack of opportunities, primarily due to socio-economic standing and location, are strongly correlated with Redlining and other methods of INSTITUTIONAL RACISM and SYSTEMIC INEQUITIES. European decedents received land grants and subsidies while minority groups, especially blacks, were discriminated against and strategically targeted. This has occurred throughout the history of the United States, the targeted assault on the wealth of minorities is further depicted in the color-coded maps that were created for major cities across the United States between 1935-40.
